7 Ways to Show Your Love of Dogs with Your Lifestyle Choices

Dogs are great, we all love them and know they are the best pets in the world. They show you unconditional love, are playful and honest and clearly show real love and affection for us, unlike cats which are smug and aloof and are really just using us, I won’t be deterred from this point of view, so don’t try. But other than having our dogs how can we show our love of the 4-legged friend when we don’t have them with us? Here are 7 fantastic ways to show your love of dogs with your day to day choices.

Get Your Dog Printed on Things

People get personal images printed on a whole range of things these days, all you need to do is a quick online search and you’ll see how many printers can knock you up a t-shirt, poster, key-ring or even a mug with any image you want on it. Many people waste this opportunity on kids and family, but we know it should actually be taken as an opportunity to show off your lovely furry pal. Even something as simple as having your coffee cup at work with the dog on it can open up conversations and allow you to find other dog lovers in the office.

Humorous Bumper & Car Stickers

Whether it’s a joke or a message of pure affection, getting your dog lover status mobile is easiest on the back of your vehicle. There are loads of hilarious and cute dog images on stickers these days, so get some ordered up and show the love!

Dog Art Work

Art is something that reflects back our personalities to us, our passions and lifestyle choices and, for me at least, that means dogs. There are so many ways to do this I, obviously, have many lovely paintings that I commissioned from a local artist of my dogs, which is especially nice to have for the ones that have passed on, still love you Goldie & Whiskey! But there are so many more examples of this, I saw these delightful dog statues recently and would highly recommend them.

Attend Dog Shows

Going to dog shows is amazing! I can’t put it any other way than that. The first thing is you get to see some absolutely beautiful examples of your favourite breeds and how well trained they can be when the work is put in. But the other part of a dog show that I love is the stalls and stands that many of them have, at a big show you can see loads of cool and innovative pet product suppliers and can even pick up a few freebies.

Take Your Dog to Work

OK, this is not possible for everyone depending on where you work and what your employer has to say about it. But it is becoming so much more popular than ever to have an office dog, and yes you have to be sure no-one else has allergies or a fear of dogs but if that’s fine then go ahead and spread the love. There’s even a national Take Your Dog to Work Day.

Dog T-Shirts

OK we did talk about getting your dog printed onto objects and one of those we mentioned was T-shirts so maybe we’re crossing old ground a little here. But it doesn’t have to be a custom shirt that has an image of your own dog on it, there are many dog-themed shirts on the market, and it’s no surprise since the dog is our favourite and a most popular pet, quite rightly so. So check out the vast range of dog-themed clothing which can be of different breeds, or dogs in action, even cartoon dogs with humorous slogans, a couple of my favourites that I saw recently included, ”The hair on this shirt is provided by dog’s name” and, “It’s Not Drinking Alone if Your Dog’s Home”, these really crack me up and brighten my day.

Dog Themed Games etc

There are many dog-themed items but games are something that really brings people together, don’t you think? So, it’s good to know that there’s no end of dog-themed and related games on the market. I’m particularly partial to a board game anyway and one of my favourites as a kid was always Monopoly, so when I found out there is Dog-Opoly I almost screamed out loud in excitement, I ordered a copy and it didn’t disappoint at all, everyone needs to get this game.
